Today I spoke with Film, TV, and commercial director, writer, and producer Stephen Savage, and his lovely lady, New York based actress and model Kerry Garvin, about new projects, the pit falls of long distance relationships, and what it is about their unique partnership that makes their individual journeys easier.

Growing up in the San Jacinto Mountains community with a sculptor and painter father, Wettlaufer said he got the message that it was difficult to make a living as an artist. So he sought a more traditional career and initially was attracted to the health care field. “I never thought about being an artist but I did do a little drawing,” he said. Wettlaufer, 45, started an AIDS Project in El Salvador during the 1990s, working to educate high-risk populations about HIV prevention through outreach health training.

Gawecki The student reviews were out after Thursday night’s performance. “The Shape of Things,” a play by Neil LaBute and performed by the Idyllwild Arts Theatre Department, was a hit. “Fast-paced,” “Edgy with good music” and “Everyone was good,” were some of their comments. Yet, the bloodstained poster with a scapel and a bare backed guy made this midwesterner nervous. There were big changes for this play. Could only four actors, with minimal staging and props, command our attention for two hours? And, this was to be held “in the round” at Rush Hall on campus, a departure from our comfy IAF Theatre. “There’s no bad seat in the house,” exclaimed Elias, who had already seen it twice, including the Understudy’s Show on Saturday afternoon (Starring Omid as Adam, Alexandra as Evelyn, Daniel as Phillip and Samantha as Jenny). “They took out all of the sex scenes because we’re teenagers,” explained Arthur. “but there’s still some suggestive language.”

The 28-year-old from North Hollywood was among 17 hikers who were stranded Saturday 8,500 feet up atop Mount San Jacinto when fierce, whipping winds — up to 90 mph — forced the Palm Springs Aerial Tramway to quickly evacuate. The last tram went down at 2 p.m. When the hikers, who had food and the right clothing for a day hike, finally battled their way back from the mountain's peak a few hours later, the tram mountain station was locked.
